In a Word . . . Choice

In a Word . . . Choice

Sophie’s school counselor recently implemented a great idea:  two kids interacting with their fellow students each day at lunchtime via the loud speaker.  The kids prepare a 1-2 minute announcement filled with their interpretation of famous quotes, fun facts and notes of inspiration.  Sophie has been participating over the last few weeks and I’ve loved hearing what she and a friend have come up with.

They start each day with the same introduction and sign off with the same closing.  I believe the final statement is courtesy of Sophie’s school counselor and I love it:

Reader 1:  Make it a good day . . .

Reader 2:  . . . or not . . .

Readers 1 &2  together:  . . . the choice is yours.

Damn right.

These words are going on my bulletin board at work because sometimes I need to be reminded that the choice is, indeed, mine.

  1. I love it! It is a choice, even though it doesn’t feel like it is some days. ;)
